Goodall Hospital - Care Starts Here

Stress Tests

Along with the traditional treadmill tests that study heart rate and function, Goodall Hospital was the first in Maine to offer supine bicycle stress echocardiography. During the test, a patient lies in a special bed and pedals a bicycle with slowly increasing resistance. When the targeted heart rate is achieved, the ultrasound technician can tilt the bed for optimal images while the patient continues to exercise.
